COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 5,1999 PSA#2296AVAILABILITY OF A NOVEL ELASTOMERIC COMPOUND FOR EXCLUSIVE,AVAILABILITY
OF A NOVEL ELASTOMERIC COMPOUND FOR EXCLUSIVE, PARTIALLY EXCLUSIVE OR
NON-EXCLUSIVE LICENSES The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Weapons
and Materials Research Directorate, has developed a novel elastomeric
compound that has demonstrated remarkable resistance to wear,
thermomechanical stability, highly improved tear and tensile strength
at high temperature, inability to burn when removed from a flame
source, and a twenty year shelf life. Additionally it is not affected
by ozone, oil, grease and hydrocarbon fuels. The initial intent for the
use of this material was for tank track pads and other related track
system elastomeric component products. This composition also
demonstrated potential for industrial rubber applications such as
isolators and bushing members, solid tires, conveyor belts, v-belts,
fenders and bumpers for loading docks, shock and vibration pads,
gaskets, o-rings, blowout preventers, seals for the oil industry,
rubber covered rolls, mud flaps and splash guards, diaphragms, bellows,
drillpipe protectors, oil field swabs, and shoe soles. This technology
has been patented and is available for licensing. The composition of
matter is covered by U.S. patents# 4,843,114 and 5,264,290, both
entitled Rubber Compound for Tracked Vehicle Track Pads. FOR FURTHER
