On or about 15 March 1999, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Fish And Wildlife Mitigation, Langdon Bend Project, Missouri River, NE. Bids will be opened on or about 14 April 1999. SOLICITATION OF BIDS WILL BE RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS ONLY. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) The project involves construction of approx. 11,000 lf of chute, with a 10' bottom width and 2H/1V side slopes; Inlet and outlet structures will be constructed thru existing riverbank revetments. Stone removed from the revetment will be salvaged and reused in the construction. A grade control structure will be excavated thru and existing chute-closure dike. The project include the following: clearing of approximately 38 acres, 283,650 cy of excavation, salvage and then replacing of 6,250 tons of existing stone, placement of 20,650 tons of quarried stone, also included is seeding and mulching of 17.8 acres. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications willnot be provided in a printed hard copy format.
