The Request for Quote will be posted electronically on the Internet at the address: www.eps.gov The Smoke Detectors shall conform with the applicable requirements for smoke detectors of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. UL 217, Single and Multiple Station Smoke Detectors; and shall have the following characteristics; Application -- Residential. Power -- 9 volt alkaline dry battery (ANSI/NEDA C18.1 Number 1604A) shall be included. Circuitry -- Solid state throughout. Mounting -- Ceiling/wall mounting with appropriate hardware, screws, and mounting plates included. Validation -- Test capability for smoke sensing and alarm with automatic reset. Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this purchase description, conform to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. UL 217 Compliance. UL listing of the smoke detector may be acceptable as proof of conformance in lieu of lot-by-lot testing. If the smoke detector is not UL listed, a test report from an independent testing laboratory acceptable to the Government stating that the smoke detector is in conformance with UL 217, may be acceptable as evidence of conformance to UL 217.
