301/415-7316 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission intends to enter
into a sole source contract entitled: "Local Telephone Service" for
Region I office located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania" with Bell
Atlantic. This service will provide, but is not limited to, the
provisioning of private branch exchange (PBX) interconnections to a
central office in order to provide dial tone for switching telephone
calls. The services required are known as High Capacity Digital Hand
Off service and direct cable service which will consist of two T1
facilities, each equipped with 24 individual circuits. The Direct Cable
will be eight circuits that will be wired directly to the PBX for
normal use and emergency backup utilization. Bell Atlantic has provided
the current services to the NRC for the past eleven years and is the
only tariffed and license provider of telephone services in the
immediate geographic area. The period of performance is five years. A
request for proposal/quotation does not exist. Interested respondents
shall submit a written capability statement substantiating their
capability to provide the abovementioned services. Telephonic responses
will not be considered. Responses providing insufficient information
