Potential sources sought to provide water and sewage utility services for Camp Merrill, Dahlonega, Georgia. Responses due March 15, 1999. The Directorate of Public Works, Fort Benning, Georgia is seeking potential sources for providing one or more of the following services for Camp Merrill, Dahlonega, Georgia: 1) Operation of water production and distribution systems and 2) Operation of sewage disposal system and wastewater collection system. The Government intends to transfer ownership to a private entity through privatization of the facilities. The intent of this survey is to test the market for interest and solicit information on how to package the above utility systems for solicitation purposes. The following utility system information is provided. The water production system has a capacity of 144,000 gallons per day. The water distribution system has approximately 14,000 linear feet of water distribution piping, constructed of PVC (mains), copper (laterals) and cast iron (laterals), ranging in size from eight inches to two inches. Includes one 300,000 gallon water storage tank. The sewage disposal system includes one (1) two and one half acre oxidation pond and six land application fields. The wastewater collection system consists of approximately 6,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines constructed of clay pipe and PVC and ranging in size from eight inches to four inches and three lift stations. Prospective offerors shall limit responses to three pages. Interested sources are requested to submit information papers to the Directorate of Contracting, Building 6, Meloy Hall, Room 207, Attn: ATZB-KTD, Fort Benning, Georgia 31905-5179. Information submitted should describe how these services may be provided by your company to include proposed methods/procedures or technological improvements that would enhance future operations.
