This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government The Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV), Indian Head, Maryland, is searching for sources who can supply a Commercial Off the Shelf Sidearm capable of a low magnetic signature is sought. The sidearm (handgun) will provide for: (l) extended exposure underwater to depths NTE 66 fsw; (2) extended exposure to saltwater and sand; (3) minimum of two rounds capability; (4) serviceability of 20,000 rounds minimum; and (5) suppressor adaptable. If a formal demonstration is possible, at contractor's expense, please indicate in your submission 3 available dates. Demonstrations must be completed prior to 01 June 1999. Videotapes should be submitted with the written submission. It is also encouraged to submit other descriptive literature and any other specific and pertinent information that would enhance our consideration and evaluation of the information submitted.
