The Department of Energy (DOE) is soliciting Technical/Business Strategy Concept Papers for the proposed project to commercialize the production, marketing, sales and distribution of Molybdenum-99 for medical purposes using the Department's unique facilities at Sandia National Laboratories. Currently, no domestic source exists for this isotope. It is projected that demand for this product will increase and a domestic supply is desirable. DOE will evaluate concept papers to determine the feasibility of negotiating with and making an award to the best qualified firm(s). Detailed, supplemental information for preparing the BSP will be made available on or after March 15, 1999, to interested parties wishing to participate in this effort.
