Automation Center (AAC), intends to negotiate with Sterling Software,
Storage Management Division, on a sole source basis for software
maintenance renewal of SAMS: Disk, Allocate, and Vantage Base. FAR Part
12 procedures will be used. The software is proprietary and protected
by U.S. copyright and patent laws. AAC knows of no other source for
this proprietary software. Interested parties must provide clear and
convincing evidence by 3/17/99 that they have been granted rights by
Sterling Software to provide the software maintenance services being
procured. In addition, responses must include pricing and documentation
in sufficient detail to allow for the evaluation of the service. No
solicitation exists and requests for such will not be accepted. The
Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued.
However, if one is issued, no additional synopsis will be published.
The determination to open competition is solely within the discretion
of the Government. Responses may be faxed to 512-326-6028 or e-mailed
