Eickenhorst, Contracting Officer, (202)353-9505 The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a requirement for armed guard services at and within a fifty-mile radius of its Lincoln Place Headquarters facility at 600/700 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia, 22202. The Contractor will provide all necessary manpower, supervision, training, transportation, equipment, supplies, and uniforms to perform security services for the DEA. Effective start date is expected to be October 1, 1999. During the term of this contract, including any extensions, the security coverage required for the DEA may change; therefore, the requirement for services may increase or decrease through the addition or deletion of DEA post and building locations. Prospective candidates will be subject to a thorough background investigation prior to commencement of the effort. This background investigation must be performed by the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) and will be paid for by the Contractor. This is a new requirement for the DEA; it is not a follow-on to an existing contract. Thus, no information is available on prior contracts. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 7381. Offerors will be required to submit a technical proposal, past performance information, and a price proposal for evaluation by the Government. Proposals will be evaluated under competitive source selection procedures and award made based on "best value" criteria. Release of the solicitation is anticipated on or about April 16, 1999.
