This station will have approximately 23,000 GSF including 9 inside parking spaces for the US Customs, INS, Border Patrol and GSA. This project will be constructed on 6 hectars of vacant land located North of the exisitng port. In addition to expanded office space, the station will have two primary pov inspection lanes and one bi-level booth to allow servicing of oversize vehicles and incidental local commercial vehicles, a secondary inspection building for both commercial buses and private vehicles, and readily accessible interview and detainment facilities. Also there will be an impound lot for 10 vehicles, an oversized vehicle lot for 5 vehicles, and parking for 26 visitors and employees along with a two lane firing range. The estimated range for the this project is $5,000,000 TO $10,000,000. The construction time is critical which is 428 calendar days after Notice To Proceed. Plans and specifications will be ready for distribution o/a March 22, 1999 and bid opening is o/a April 22, 1999.
