The US Army CECOM-Washington intends to award a sole source purchase order to Robotic Systems Technology, Westminister, MD as a continuation of effort under Contract No. DAAK70-93-C-0066 to prove the feasibility of integrating state-of-the-art navigation, communication, and intrusion detection technologies for meeting Mobile Detection Assessment Response System -- Exterior (MDARS-E) requirements. Demonstration of that capability included development of two brassboard models and system specifications. Engineering analysis and coordination with Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), the designated operational test agency for MDARS, indicated that with limited engineering modifications, primarily to improve Intrusion Detection System (IDS) capabilities and integrate a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system to support inventory assessment and lock assessment functionalities, the brassboard models could be utilized as prototype models with a high probability of meeting or exceeding program baseline exit criteria for TFT. This effort is to complete the engineering modifications to MDARS-E necessary to provide the required IDS and RFID functionalities for conduct of Technical Feasibility Testing (TFT) scheduled for 1Q/2Q CY 00 at Aberdeen, MD IAW test plan and test procedures prepared by ATC. All work is to be performed under an anticipated fixed price purchase order. The period of performance will be from date of award through 31 December 1999.
