Army Soldier & Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) has a requirement for items outlined below: M18A3 Chemical Agent Detector Kit The M18A3 Chemical Agent Detector Kit is a portable and expendable kit that is used to detect and classify dangerous concentrations of toxic chemical agents in the air and liquid chemical agent on exposed surfaces. The kit contains an aspirator bulb, detector tubes, tickets, paper, bottles of reagent solutions, etc.. Air sample is drawn through the tickets and the tubes with the aspirator bulb. The presence of a chemical agent is detected by distinctive color changes. Some chemical agents produce direct color changes; others require the addition of reagent solutions to effect color changes. The kit detects and classifies blood (AC, CK), choking (CG), blister (H, CX, L, ED, MD), and nerve (V and G) agents. The kit is also used to collect and forward samples of unknown chemical agents to laboratory for identification. M30A2 Refill Kit The M30A2 Refill Kit isused to replenish the V- and G-agents portion of the M18A3 Chemical Agent Detector Kit. It includes the M8 detector paper, detector tickets and a bottle of buffered solution. M272 Water Test Kit The M272 Water Test Kit is used to detect and identify harmful amounts of cyanide, mustard, lewisite, and nerve agents in water sources. The kit consists of 25 containers of reagents, thermometer and holder, test bottle, waterproof matches and container, and instruction cards -- enough to do 25 tests for each agent. The presence of chemical agent is detected by distinctive color changes in the detector tubes. The kit also contains chemical agent simulants used for training. This kit is disposable and no refills or repairs are needed.
