Care includes feeding, weighing, sorting, breeding, and collecting biological samples in accordance with established operating procedures, animal protocols, and specific instructions; and transporting animals from airport to housing space; and maintaining appropriate records for the various tasks. Welfare includes selection of caging and environmental enrichment techniques appropriate for the species and size of animals; pest control, and monitoring and maintaining controls for temperature, relative humidity, and air flow; insuring the appropriate operation of cage washers.
