E-MAIL: Lori A. Deara, ldeara@pica.army.mil. The US Army has expressed
interest in evaluating foreign Non-developmental Item (NDI) Automatic
Target Tracker (ATT) systems, under a potential Foreign Comparative
Test (FCT) Program, for possible future integration into the MlA2
Abrams tank. (Due to FCT funding constraints, this CBD is limited to
foreign contractors only) The Fire Control & Software Engineering
Division of ARDEC is soliciting information pertaining to the
availability and capabilities of existing foreign NDI ATT systems
configured with one or two VME circuit cards which could be adapted or
modified for use in the MlA2 fire control system. Information related
to a technical description of the ATT such as tracking method,
hardware and software description, accuracy, limitations, general
physical characteristics, etc., and a description of current
application(s)is desired. Other capabilities/features such as
autocueing, multiple target tracking and prioritizing are also desired.
Information available regarding application to the MlA2fire control
system in terms of compatibility with the existing thermal sight and
overall integration impact is desired. Individuals or firms that can
support the above guidelines are encouraged to submit ideas to ARDEC.
