AMSSC-AD, Natick, MA 01760-5011 84 -- MARINE CORPS GLOVE/MITT SYSTEM -- QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS SOL
DAAD16-99-R-0009 DUE 031999 POC jbaldwin@natick-notes02.army.mil
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON GLOVE/MITT SYSTEM Should the mitt liner fit
inside of the glove shell? (Don't expect this is the case but the
wording in the solicitation caused some confusion. Wording in
solicitation is, "Both the Modular Glove Standard Liner and the Modular
Mitt Liners shall fit interchangeably into the Modular Mitt in addition
to the Modular Glove shell.") Answer: NO Will a proposal for part of
the system only, such as the glove shell only, be considered as long as
the glove shell fits with the rest of the system as described? Answer:
We will only consider a proposal for the complete system, but that
should not preclude the prime contractor from subcontracting a
component. The prime is still responsible to make sure all components
are compatible. Will a proposal for a waterproof glove shell be
considered as long as the glove fits with the rest of the system as
described? Answer: We will only consider a proposal for the complete
system, but that should not preclude the prime contractor from
subcontracting a component. The prime is still responsible to make sure
all components are compatible. Will a proposal for a manufacturer to
make part of the system and subcontract the rest of the system to other
US manufacturer's be considered? Answer: We will only consider a
proposal for the complete system, but that should not preclude the
prime contractor from subcontracting a component. The prime is still
responsible to make sure all components are compatible. The
solicitation asks for samples in sizes Small through X Large. Do you
wish to have a sample in size XXL? Answer: Yes. On the previous
contract the gloves were upsized to more successfully accommodate the
thin tactile commercial glove inserts that are used in conjunction with
these systems. Should we bid using this upsizing? Answer: Yes, offeror
shall bid using this commercial upsizing. Any questions or concerns
shall be sent via E-mail to the address above. Proposals are still due
on 19 March 1999 NLT 1400EST. Posted 03/09/99 (W-SN306589). (0068) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0255 19990311\84-0001.SOL)
