COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 11,1999 PSA#2300U.S. Postal Service, Headquarters Purchasing, Room 4541, 475 L'Enfant
Plaza, SW., Washington, DC 20260-6230 D -- CORPORATE CALL MANAGEMENT LAN SUPPORT SOL 102590 99A 0098 DUE
033099 POC David Beckman WEB: Business Opptunities Bulletin (BOB),
http://www.purchasing.gov. The U. S. Postal Service (USPS) desires to
prequalify suppliers to provide on-site Information Technology (IT)
support personnel for the Corporate Call Management (CCM) Program. The
Corporate Call Management (CCM) Program is designed to improve and
standardize United States Postal Service (USPS) telephone customer
service and operating efficiency through the establishment of an
effective call-handling infrastructure. This infrastructure includes a
planned network of fully integrated National Service Centers (NSCs)
that offer USPS customers easy access to accurate, reliable information
of services and retail products through a single toll-free number. In
support of CCM Program, the USPS requires a supplier to provide the
following types of skilled IT personnel: LAN Engineer/Administrators,
Telecommunications Specialists, Help Desk Technicians, and several
other skill categories. Interested companies seeking to be prequalified
must read the CCM prequalification package that is posted at
(http://www.purchasing.gov). The prequalification package will not be
made available to any potential supplier in paper form.
Prequalification evaluation will focus principally on: 1) Past
Performance, including relevance of prior experience and 2) Supplier
Capability. It is the intent of the Postal Service to award one (1)
contract for CCM IT support in the future using prequalified sources.
Interested parties are hereby advised that all qualified sources may
not be placed on the prequalified list if the purchase team determines
(a) that a smaller group will provide adequate competition or (b) that
some sources are considerably more qualified than others, thereby
precluding contract opportunities for the less qualified. Upon
completion of the prequalification process, all respondents will be
notified of the USPS' decision. Interested parties should submit their
response by close of business March 30, 1999. Posted 03/09/99
