Electronics Command and PM Joint STARS anticipates the award of a Sole
Source cost plus fixed fee completion type contract to Motorola, Inc.,
in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1), "Only One Responsible Source."
The base contract effort will develop an interface for an Advanced
Radar Sensor via an architecture supporting both NATO Common Ground
Stations and US Army Joint STARS systems being used under other
contracts with Motorola. Options are included for support of other
anticipated requirements related to the NATO and US Ground Stations,
and the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Program. Motorola is the
prime contractor for the Common Ground Station, the system
configuration manager and currently controls all hardware and software
components and interfaces below the system performance specification.
The anticipated contract will include a 12-month period of performance
with options for an additional 12-month period that can support four
distinct taskings. The solicitation and all related documents will be
