The Los Alamos National Laboratory, operated by the University of California for the Department of Energy (DOE), Los Alamos, New Mexico, hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory," will soon require Construction Management Oversight (CMO) services for the "Design-Build of the Strategic Computing Complex (SCC)." This notice is targeted for firms dominant in the field of Construction Management on design-build projects similar to the SCC. The CMO will assist the Laboratory in its oversight of the design-build contractor. The SCC will be an estimated 267,000 gross square feet with a 43,500 square-foot unobstructed computer room. It must be capable of both air and water cooling of computers. It must include a scalable building starting at 7.1 MW power and 130,000 GPD water -- expandable as the need dictates. The SCC includes: design simulation laboratories (classified and unclassified), offices/work areas, visualization centers, collaborative laboratories, visualization theaters, and a 200-seat auditorium. The estimated cost range of the CMO project is between $2M and $3M. The Laboratory expects to issue the Request for Proposal(RFP)early in April.
