Mediterranean invites bids for the construction of the following: 1.
Flightline Fitness Center, Aviano AB (PN), Italy: This one story, 2880
gross square meter building will be constructed with materials, for
the most part, indigenous to Northern Italy with specific design
elements from the region incorporated into the building design. The
building is constructed on a concrete foundation, column and beam
structural system with hollow clay tile fill-in walls. The exterior fo
the building is finished with a sloped, clay tile roof, stucco and
masonry finished walls and bronze aluminum windows and doors with
tinted glazing. The interior finishes, in general. are stone tile and
wood flooring, painted plaster walls and suspended acoustical ceilings.
The building plan contains administrative offices, mechanical spaces,
weight aerobics, and fitness rooms. There are two sets of locker,
shower and toilet areas afor each sex to accommodate opposing teams on
game days. The gym area of the building will include two racquet ball
courts with glass walls for viewing and a gymnasium designed to
accommodate two on-going basketball games simultaneously with fixed
bleachers in each for spectatiors. The building will be fully
sprinklered with and automatic wet pipe system. The site improvement
will include grading for drainage and turf, landscaping and paving. 2.
Child Development Center, Aviano AB(PN), Italy: The work includes
final design and construction of a one story child Development Center
building (approximately 1,282 Gross Square Meters) complete and ready
for use; which is to include concrete foundations and structural
frames, concrete and masonry walls, clay tile roofing, interior
finishes including carpet, ceramic tile, plaster, suspended axoustical
ceilings, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning,
lighting, power, fire alarm system, sprinkler system, fire detection,
communications, kitchen equipment, windows anddoors, paving, sidewalks,
landscaping, grading, exterior utilities, site improvements, and
incidental related work. Portions of the work indicated above may be
included as options in the Cahier de Charges (solicitation) and
subsequent contract. If the Child Development Center portion of the
solicitation has not been completed to meet the schedule below. it may
be removed from this solicitation. All applicants must be certified to
compete in NATO ICB by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of
