The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport anticipates placing a sole source, (see Numbered Note 22) Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract with Etrema Products, Incorporated located at 2500 North Loop Drive, Ames, Iowa, for transducer components and cylinders manufactured with TERFENOL-D and T2 materials. The TERFENOL-D and T2 materials, devices and processes are the intellectual property of Edge Technologies (Etrema is a subsidiary of Edge Technologies). The patents applicable to this requirement are: US 4,308,474, US 4,609,402, US 4,770,704 and US 4,849,034. The procurement will consist of eighteen (18) TERFENOL-D transducer assemblies. The contract will include two options: one option to procure an additional ten (10) TERFENOL-D transducer assemblies and an option to procure an additional ten (10) T2 transducer cylinders. Delivery of the eighteen (18) TERFENOL-D transducer assemblies will be six (6) months after contract award at destination Newport, RI. Delivery of the optional assemblies and cylinders will be 6 months after exercising the option and delivery will be destination Newport, RI.
