Kim Hersh, 301-504-4211 The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Food
Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to make an award to
Whatman, Inc., 100 Ames Pond Drive, Tawksbury, MA 01878-0982, for the
purchase of a Whatman Nitrogen Gas Generator System which includes
combination pre-filter system with automatic drains, high performance
membrane module, system pressure and gas purity controls, final
membrane filter, nitrogen gas purity monitor. The generator is a
special quad-stage filtration technology. A proprietary molecular sieve
balanced with activated carbon is the heart of the filtration module.
Inlet, air, oil, water, and particulate are completely removed. The gas
is filtered using a membrane filter. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT
AVAILABLE. Whatman is the only known source for providing this
equipment. All interested concerns must identify their interest in
writing and fully document their capability to meet the agency's
requirements by forwarding a detailed response by March 22, 1998. All
responses must be in writing and my be faxed to 301-504-4211. All
proposals from responsible sources will be considered by the Agency. If
no affirmative written response is received by March 22 to determine a
comparable source is available, or is more advantageous to the
Government, negotiations will take place with Whatman, Inc. Posted
