This is the first amendment to the announcement published 9 Mar 99 regarding the Silicon on Insulator Wafers program. The following clarifications and information is provided for that announcement. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Defense Production Act Team (AFRL/MLMP) intends to issue a Program Research and Development Announcement (PRDA) 99-7-MLK for Silicon on Insulator Wafers in lieu of a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) as previously announced. Release of the PRDA is anticipated for March 1999, and the proposals in response to the PRDA will be due thirty (30) calendar days thereafter. Information in this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a PRDA announcement and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government.
