COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 15,1999 PSA#2302ASSOCIATION OF OLD CROWS FORECAST TO INDUSTRY CONFERENCE The
Association of Old Crows and the Capitol Club will present a two-day
Forecast to Industry conference on April 13-14, 1999. The conference is
unclassified and will be held at the Army Navy Country Club, Arlington,
Virginia. The theme of the conference will be to provide an expanded
view of the defense electronics marketplace. Lt Gen Kenneth A. Minihan,
USAF, Director, National Security Agency will give the keynote address,
"Perspectives on Information Warfare." MG David R. Gust, USA, Program
Executive Officer Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO
IEW&S) will also be a featured speaker. Session One will provide the U.
S. and international financial background with briefings from the
Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) focusing on
defense fiscal realities; the financial scene by Merrill, Lynch,
Pierce, Fenner and Smith; and the worldwide defense marketplace by
Defense Security Assistance Agency. Session Two will cover defense
strategies and requirements with briefings from OSD and the services.
Session Three will provide papers on programs, technologies and
initiatives including: EW Technologies (USN, EW, PM, Office of Naval
Research, Surveillance, Communications and Electronic Combat); EW
Shortfall Study and Implications (DCS Air & Space Operations, XOIW);
USAF EW Requirements (Common Systems Div, Global Power Programs,
SAF/AQPS); Army programs (PM, Night Vision, RSTA); Ship Self Defense
(PEO, Theater Air Defense) and Naval Air Defense Programs (PMA-234);
Air Force Space Activities (Space and Nuclear Deterrence, SAF/AQSC) and
International Considerations (Foreign Comparative Testing program, OUSD
A&T). The final session will focus on business intelligence and
planning. Topics to be discussed include: Competitive Intelligence and
Business Planning (Technology and Business Intelligence, Inc.);
On-line Information Collection -- the Process and Resources (Dialog
Information Systems); Defense Daily and other WWW sites (Phillips
Defense and Aviation Group); and Tools: Aids in the Collection and
Analysis of Business Intelligence (CDI Corp.) This is an absolute
not-to-be-missed conference for business developers, planners,
strategists and field marketing professionals, as well as all EW/IO
professionals who have an interest in the area. The information
