COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 16,1999 PSA#2303BAA -- GOVERNMENT-INDUSTRY AIRCRAFT ARRESTING HOOK SYMPOSIUM The Naval
Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia will be hosting a
Government-Industry Aircraft Arresting Hook Symposium on April 7, 1999.
Interested companies are invited to attend this event to be held at the
Naval Inventory Control Point, 700 Robbins Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
The purpose of this conference is to jointly explore alternative and
innovative contracting strategies for the procurement of aircraft
arresting hooks in support of the F/A-18C/D, F-14, EA-6B, E2/C2, S-3,
and T-2 aircraft. Among the possible contract types to be discussed are
multi-year, long term contracts featuring level loading and the
pre-positioning of long lead-time forgings. An objective of the
symposium is to solicit industry ideas on how to re-engineer the
procurement process for these hooks. NAVICP is looking forward to
working with committed contractors that wish to enter into long term
commitments of arresting hooks in a highly demanding environment. The
NAVICP will be selecting qualified contractor (s) to partner with the
Government that will be dedicated to making the Navy's arresting hook
supply status a win-win program for both business partners. Industry
attendance is requested. Inquiries for additional information may be
directed to Katherine Rachubinski, (215) 697-2813. Posted 03/12/99
