Using Simplified Acquisition Procedures, this office intends to award a firm fixed price contract for 1 ea Modular data switching matrix system with a central control unit that controls telephone and data communications signals using RJ style connectors. The control unit needs to be controlled via an RS-232 serial interface that can be configured as either a Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) or Data Communications Equipment with software programmable baud rates from 110 baud to 19,200 baud. The serial interface needs the ability to echo received characters back to the controlling processor source and enable the matrix control unit to return error and command response text strings back to the processor. The control unit shall also have a built in manual keypad with a LCD display that has the ability to display alphanumeric characters of matrix commands, switch selection, status messages and error displays. The switching matrix shall have a minimum of 56 modules with status display, each with two 1x4 matrices. Each matrix shall have a switchable path for six signals. The two matrices shall be capable of being bussed together to provide 1x8 matrices. The matrices shall have 9 pin D-sub connectors and be mounted in 19-inch rack mounted chassis.
