necessary to perform dry dock repairs including, but not limited to the
following Base Items: (1) Inspect skeg top plate, (2) Renew watertight
hatch assemblies, (3) Inspect bronze sleeves in various shaft packing
areas, (4) Remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shafts, (5) Renew
water lubricated shaft bearings, (6) Remove and reinstall propellers,
(7) Renew MDE 18-inch exhaust piping, (8) Inspect MDE 8 inch exhaust
flapper valves and MDE exhaust piping, (9) Preserve the transducer hull
ring and install the V850 transducer (Ship-alt 110-B-057), (10)
Overhaul, renew, and test valves, (11) Inspect and overhaul duplex sea
strainers, (12) Clean and inspect diesel fuel and waste oil tanks,
(13) Remove and install rudders, (14) Overhaul stabilizing fins, (15)
Blast and preserve forepeak compartment, (16) Preserve weather decks,
(17) Underwater body coating thickness measurement, (18) Underwater
appendage preservation, (19) Preserve aluminum mast, (20) Clean
andinspect grey water tanks, (21) Clean and inspect potable water
tanks, (22) Inspect and maintain cathodic protection system, (23)
Provide temporary messing, (24) Provide temporary berthing, (25)
Provide temporary logistics, (26) Routine drydocking, and (27) GFP
report in accordance with solicitation section H. Options include, but
are not limited to the following items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Renew
skeg top plate, (3) Remove, fabricate, fit, and install bronze sleeve,
(4) Inspect and install Government furnished propeller shaft, (5)
Perform stern tube/strut alignment inspection, (6) Perform reduction
gear-to-shaft alignment inspection, (7) Straighten propeller shaft, (8)
Repair propeller root erosion, (9) Renew rudder bearings, (10) Renew
lower fin stock bearing, (11) Condition "C" entire underwater body,
(12) Minor coating repairs, sewage tank, (13) Minor coating repairs,
aft grey water tank (14) Preserve sewage and grey water collection and
holding tanks, (15) Minor coating repairs, potable water tanks, (16)
Preserve potable water tanks, (17) renew reference electrode, (18)
Renew cathodic anode, (19) Renew capastic fairing, (20) Provide
additional temporary messing, (21) Provide additional temporary
berthing, (22)Ultrasonic testing, (23) Provide additional temporary
logistics, (24) Composite Labor Rate, and (25) Laydays. Vessel's
homeport is Cape Canaveral, Florida. Vessel's length is 110 foot, "B"
Class Patrol Boat. Vessel availability schedule is for forty-two (42)
days, starting July 19, 1999. The place of performance for this vessel
is not geographically restricted. There will be a non-refundable
charge of $100.00 required, in the form of a certified check or money
order payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested drawings. All
other referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main
Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, Virginia. Funds are available for this
procurement. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or around April 6, 1999. All
responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. This notice is for informational purposes
for Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises

short-term working capital assistance for transportation related
