SPORTS DAY AT EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE May has been designated as May Fitness Month throughout the Air Force. The Air Force places a special emphasis on the health and wellness of its members and civilian employees. We at Edwards Air Force Base have challenged ourselves to plan a month that will provide maximum exposure to the sports and fitness activities here. A month that would enhance espirt de corps and morale for the base community, a community of military, civilians, contractors, and dependents. During the month of May some scheduled events are a triathlon, fitness runs, powerlifting competition and bowling tournament. The month will culminate with Sports Day, a day of competition and fun between squadrons and the base community. Teams will compete for the 2nd annual Sports Day Trophy. Our planning has led us to a first class event, however funding has been a challenge. I would like to invite you to become a corportate sponsor of Sports Day. Sponsorship is unique in that civilian companies, individuals and organizations can join us in our endeavors to support the military and Department of Defense civilians.
