The solicitation release date for the Operation and Maintenance of the Alaska Radar System (ARS) has been changed to on or about 8 Apr 99 with the new closing date of 21 May 99. Site visits are scheduled for 19-23 of April. Offerors will be required to nofity the Contracting Officer (Dona S. Alexander) or Administrator (Heather Rosales) if they will send representatives no later than 16 Apr 99, at 1600 Alaska standard time. On 16 Apr 99, the Government will inform the offerors as to how many personnel will be authorized to attend the site visit. This will be based on the availability of the aircraft, the number of offerors, and the transportation capabilities at the remote radar sites. All offerors that attend will be required to have Cold Weather Gear with them that is rated to minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, each traveler will be required to pay $1825.00/person prior to being allowed to travel on the site visits. This payment will be provided by check made out to the US Treasury in the appropriate amount and recieved no later than 16 Apr 99. The Pre- solicitation conference is scheduled for 27 Apr 99.
