The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue a sole-source purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to CommerceNet Consortium, 400 Miranda Ave., Suite 175, Palo Alto, CA 94304. SSA's requires renewing their current corporate sponsor membership in CommerceNet. SSA's requirement is for a one-year period beginning April 1, 1999 through March 31, 2001. CommerceNet is an open, Internet-based infrastructure for electronic commerce. CommerceNet's mission is to promote and advance interoperable electronic commerce to support emerging communities of commerce. The software support and membership are proprietary with CommerceNet; they are the only known source that can provide these services. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to continue its membership in CommerceNet. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government doesnot intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication.
