The prairie restoration consists of expanding the current prairie (approximately 70 acres) at the New Haven Depot, 15411 Dawkins Road, New Haven, IN 46774-9644 and improving the health of the existing native plants at the site by: -- Preparing land for new prairie. -- Prescribed burning where and often as needed. -- Reseeding with native grass species and wildflower species. A basic mix containing 7 warm season grass species and 20 wildflower species is recommended. -- If required, herbicide application.
