Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to solicit offers for furnishing
Outpatient Emergency and Inpatient Medical and Surgical Services to
patients referred by VA in Redding, California under Request for
Proposal (RFP) 261-21-99. The proposed contract period will be from
5/1/99 (or date of contract award) through 4/31/00 with four one year
options for renewal. The proposed contract will be a firm-fixed price
requirements-type contract. Contractor must operate a hospital
accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations (JCAHO), located within a 15-mile radius of the VA
Outpatient Clinic, 351 Hartnell Avenue, Redding, California. Contractor
must be licensed and capable of providing the full spectrum of
emergency outpatient and emergent inpatient medical and surgical
services, to include emergent cardiac surgery and coronary angioplasty
services. Proposals will be evaluated for technical capability, price
reasonableness and past performance based upon specific criteria as
identified in the RFP. The RFP will be issued on or about 3/12/99.
