Navy Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization is pleased
to announce its new web site (http://www.hq.navy.mil/sadbu). This site
is designed, primarily, to familiarize small, small disadvantaged, and
women-owned small business concerns with our Navy and Marine Corps
contracting centers, and to provide guidance and information that may
help them identify potential markets for their products and services.
For example, the "Marketing the Navy" section links to the "Department
of the Navy Information Service" database. The database is designed to
assist prospective contractors determine which Navy and Marine Corps
contracting centers are procuring the products and services your firm
may wish to provide, and whom to contact in your initial marketing
inquiries. For firms interested in retail activities, the web site
provides access to the Navy Exchange System and /or Marine Corps
Exchange. The Exchanges are retailing operations that provide quality
products and a variety ofservices to the men and women of the Armed
Forces, retirees, reservists and their families. Under the "Procurement
Resources" section, you will find a link to the "Department of the Navy
Long Range Acquisition Estimates" (the Department's procurement
forecast). Additional links to various Department of the Navy,
Department of Defense, and Federal agency web sites may also prove
useful in your marketing efforts. Any comments, suggestions, or
