The following is a modification to the March 4, February 17, and January 15, 1999 CBDNet notices to delete the statement of notice of intent to award under sole source provisions for privatization of the natural gas utility distribution systems at Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, Fort McPherson, and Fort Gillem, Georgia. Solicitation Number SP0600-99-R-0066 shall be unrestricted as follows: Privatization of the natural gas utility distribution systems at Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, Fort McPherson, and Fort Gillem, Georgia. Privatization will transfer to the private sector the responsibility for the ownership, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Government-owned utility systems for natural gas distribution services. All applicable State and Federal laws and regulations must be complied with. Fort Stewart's natural gas distribution system includes natural gas lines that are primarily coated steel pipe with a small amount of polyethylene pipe. There is approximately 110,920 linear feet (21 miles) of pipe ranging in size from less than 2 inches to 8 inches in diameter. Fort Stewart utilizes approximately 76 valves of various sizes, and approximately seven main meters to serve approximately 400 buildings. Most of the service connections are in the housing area. The Hunter Army Airfield's natural gas distribution system consists of natural gas lines that are primarily coated steel pipe with a small amount of polyethylene pipe. There is approximately 22,760 linear feet of pipe ranging in size from less than 2 inches to 8 inches in diameter. Hunter Army Airfield utilizes approximately 11 valves of various sizes, and one main meter to serve approximately 17 buildings throughout the installation. Fort McPherson's natural gas distribution system redistributes the purchased natural gas within the Installation boundary to approximately 103 buildings. There is approximately 50,500 linear feet of natural gas pipe ranging in size from less than 2 inches to 6 inches in diameter in various material. Fort Gillem's natural gas system redistributes the purchased gas from two metering locations within the Installation boundary to approximately 119 buildings. There is approximately 63,030 linear feet of natural gas pipe ranging in size from less than 2 inches to 12 inches in diameter. The entire natural gas system was rebuilt in 1996 using polyethylene pipe. This requirement is unrestricted. Interested sources should contact DESC to be added to our bidders mailing list.
