maintenance of washers and dryers on Hurlburt Field, Florida. This is
a synopsis for service prepared in accordance with the format in FAR
Subpart 5.2, as supplemented with additional information contained in
this notice. Contractor shall furnish approximately 108 washing
machines with a minimum tub capacity of 14 lbs dry weight. Washers
shall not utilize more than 50 gallon of water per load washed, and
have a minimum of 2 cycles. Washers shall have standard hot and cold
water hoses and be capable of operating on a 20 amp circuit without
overloading the electrical circuit during normal operation. The
electrical power available is 120 volts AC, 60 hz. Contractor shall
furnish approximately 72 individual electric dryers, 21 stackable
dryers (2 dryers one on top of the other) and 6 gas dryers capable of
removing 13 lbs of water per hour when loaded with 25 lbs of wet
clothing having a moisture retention of 70%. Dryers shall have a tub
capacity of 16 lbs of dry weight and have a minimum of two cycles.
Electric dryers shall be designed for operation on a 30 amp circuit
under normal conditions. The electrical power available is 208 volts
AC, 60 hz. Electric dryers shall have exhaust flex hose and appropriate
electrical receptacles to ensure proper operation. Gas dryers shall be
designed for operation on a 20 amp circuit under normal conditions.
The electrical power available is 120 volts AC, 60 hz. Gas dryers shall
be no wider than 29 inches and shall have exhaust flex hose and
appropriate gas and electrical receptacles to ensure proper operation.
All washers and dryers must be new. Contractor shall provide
maintenance on all machines within 48 hours of being called for
service. Type of contract anticipated is a delivery order contract with
a basic period beginning on or about 1 June 1999 and four one-year
option periods. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business
