construction of a new 26,844 GSF two story dormitory building and the
replacement and upgrade of the domestic water supply. The work includes
but is not limited to: site demolition, utilities, grading/earthwork,
landscaping and paving, steel structure and conrete masonry block, fire
sprinkler, elevator, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, site lighting and fire
alarm system. In addition, the project has the following additive
alternates: (1) Alternate No. 1 consists of the construction of the
pavilion located at the end of Luke Avenue. The addition shall include
concrete, masonry, metal ceiling, roofing and electrical; (2)
Alternate No. 2 consists of the addition of the hydraulic passenger
elevator; (3) Alternate No. 3 consist of the demolition of the 500,000
gallon below ground water storage tank and 100,000 gallon elevated
tank; and (4) Alternate No. 4 consists of the installation of Ductile
Iron Pipe (DIP) in leu of PVC pipe for the water distribution system.
This work shall be performed at the Gary Job Corps Center in San
Marcos, Texas. The construction completion date is estimated to be 406
calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost range for
construction is $1 Million to $5 Million. Plans and Specifications will
be available on or about April 2, 1999 only from the
Architect/Engineering firm of Croslin & Associates, 1114 Lost Creek,
Boulevard, Suite 430, Austin, Texas 78746. Contact: Bruce Hoelscher at

Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for
Plans and Specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed
above to ensure proper handling of requests. A Bid Deposit in the
amount of $50.00 is required which is refundable when the plans and
specifications are returned in good condition. The bid deposit must be
in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or money order and
made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to Croslin
and Associates, Inc., at thetime of the request. All requests will be
answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are
exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the
Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is
warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of
duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-thru
is scheduled for April 29, 1999, at 10:00 A.M. local time. Bid Opening
date is May 25, 1999, at 10:00 A.M. local time. The SIC Code is 1522
