Contract Specialist, Susan J. Denham (301) 862-8928 ; Contracting
Officer, J. Larry Mattingly (301) 862-8119 E-MAIL:
DenhamSJ@navair.navy.mil, DenhamSJ@navair.navy.mil. The Naval Air
Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 4.5.8.4, at St. Inigoes, MD has
identified a requirement to modify contract N00421-97-D-1388 with
Harris Corporation, RF Communications Division, to add estimated
quantities of the RF-5045 Digital Pre/Post Selectors to the remaining
ordering periods under the subject contract. It is the intent of this
office to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR
6.302-1. The Government currently procures RF-5000 series 125W/400W
base station and vehicular transceiver systems and associated
components under this contract through the issuance of individual
delivery orders. A breakdown of estimated quantities of RF-5045s to be
added to the remaining ordering periods under the contract is as
follows: Ordering Period Estimated Quantity II 60 III 40 IV 30 V 20 The
Harris Corporation RF-5045's are the only high performance digital
pre/post selectors designed for operation in rugged, tactical
environments as part of the 125W or 400W RF-5000 transceiver systems.
The Harris RF-5045 is an ancillary device to the RF-5000, and no other
vendor makes the pre/post selector needed to function between Harris
RF-5000's. The digital pre-post selectors are required to reduce both
unwanted receive signals and spurious transmitter outputs, thus
allowing for co-location of two or more RF-5000 systems at the same
site. Harris Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer of the
RF-5045 as well as the RF-5000 transceiver systems, and has retained
the proprietary rights to this equipment. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT
A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may identify
their interest and technical capability to respond to this requirement
and may submit information, which shall be considered by NAWCAD
Contracts, Code 2.5.4.1.1 . It is requested that such responses be
submitted to this office no later than 15 days after date of
publication of this notice. A determination not to compete this
proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is
solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses to this
synopsis should be sent to the attention of Ms. Susan J. Denham, Code
254113, FAX (301) 862-8670; or to the following E-mail address:
