The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source contract to the ALT Research and Production Association to produce and deliver to representatives of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense (RFMOD) 100 sets of the Alfa-4a Compact Wireless Video Surveillance System. These systems will be used to enhance security of RFMOD nuclear weapons during guard force operations associated with weapons storage and transport. This effort is tied to an agreement between the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the Russian Ministry of Defense (RFMOD) to provide assistance with the acquisition of certain physical security systems/equipment and ancillary materials to improve the security of selected nuclear weapon storage facilities in Russia. This requirement must be performed by an organization whose products have been certified by RFMOD.
