E-MAIL: JEFFREY S. FLEMING, JFLEMING@PICA.ARMY.MIL. The US Army
Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is
contemplating a modification to continue the enhancement of the
Automated Concurrent Engineering Software (ACES) System for Resin
Transfer Molded (RTM) of composite Ammunition components. The
modification will be a five-year effort to validate the functionality
of the prototypical virtual environment, developed under FY97-98
funding. The effort will continue incorporating a life-cycle analysis
module within ACES, initiate the knowledge acquisition phase for
transfer molding, complete the knowledge acquisition and continue the
development phases of the thermoplastic tape lay-up process module for
ammunitions components with ACES. In addition, initiate work on ACES
software system architecture required to support complex
multi-component multi-process weapon systems. ARDEC intends to award a
modification to the sole source contract DAAE30-97-C-1041 to Design &
Manufacturing Institute, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken NJ
07030. Facsimile responses are not acceptable. Responses shall be
addressed to US Army TACOM-ARDEC, AMSTA-AR-PC-H Bldg. 9, Jeffrey S.
