Air Systems Command plans to contract with Hamilton Standard Division
of United Technologies by order under a current Basic Ordering
Agreement, for development of a scheduled dynamic balance program. The
program developed must reduce USN cost of maintenance man-hours and
AVDLR attributed to excessive vibration from the 54H60-77, 54H60-111
and 54460-1 propeller systems when integrated in the P-3, C-130, E-2
and C-2 aircraft. Hamilton Standard is the designer, developer and
manufacturer of these propeller systems with forty years investment in
the design, development, production and maintenance of these systems.
Hamilton Standard is the only source known to have the engineering
expertise, proprietary knowledge of specification requirements and
operating aerodynamic characteristics of all these systems as they are
integrated in aircraft platforms that is requisite to developing the
specified cost reduction program within the timeframe required by the
