S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATGE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH WASHINGTON DEPT. OF FISH & WILDLIFE (WDFW) TO TAG CHINOOK SALMON. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of contract is to implant coded wire tags in chinook salmon at the WDFW Forks Creek Hatchery in Raymond, Washington. The coded wire tagging must be implanted before the fish are released on early June, 1999. The NMFS and the WDFW are working under a cooperative agreement under experiment entitled "1999 NATURES." The WDFW owns and operates the Forks Hatchery; possesses all necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies (tagging equipment and coded wire tags); and the WDFW will read the tag codes of the adult salmon returning to the Forks Hatchery. This notice made to satisfy FAR Part 5 requirements synopsizing a contract valued over $25,000 and is not an attempt to locate other sources.
