Maryland 20892-7540 A -- HONOLULU-ASIA AGING STUDY POC Silver C. Jones (301) 496-4487 The
National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health, intends to
negotiate with the Kuakini Medical Center, for a six-month extension of
Contract No. NO1-AG-4-2149 to screen for new cases of dementia,
conducting medical consensus on these cases; to identify family trees;
and to conduct telephone screening, perform neurological examinations,
and laboratory studies for Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and longevity
on these family members. Statutory authority: 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), as
set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent duplication of cost to the
Government and unacceptable delays in service make competition
unfeasible for the extension period. See Numbered Note 22.***** Posted
