Management Alaska State Office located at the Anchorage Federal Office
Building,222 W 7th Ave #13, Anchorage, AK 99513 has a requirement to
procure Thin Client Environment services. This is a combined
synopsis/solication following FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Buys, no bid
packet will be issued. SCOPE OF WORK: This procurement is for the
deployment of a thin client environment that services the Bureau of
Land Management, using Microsoft Windows NT 4.o Terminal Server, Citrix
Metaframe, and NCD Wincenter software. The intent of the deployment is
to allow users to access Microsoft Windows based applications from
AIX(UNIX) workstations and x-terminals. This deployment will support
120 users, with approximately 50 users accessing these services at any
given time. The applications to be accessed through this system
include; Microsoft Excel, Corel Wordperfect, and Gelco Payments
Systems, Travel Manager. Other Microsoft Windows based application may
be added to this environment. The wiring plant for this office meets
Category 5 LAN Wiring specification, it also supports Ethernet and
TCP/IP. PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS: The successful contractor on this
procurement will be a Platinum Level Citrix reseller and a Citrix
Authorized Learning Center. This contractor will also have extensive
experience with Microsoft Windows NT installations. GOVERNMENT
FURNISHED ITEMS: Server Hardware: The BLM will provide server hardware
and storage based upon specification provided by the vendor. FACILITY
ACCESS: The BLM will provide access to the installation site during
the hours of 7:30a.m and 4:15p.m. Monday through Friday, for the
duration of this project. CONTRACTOR FURNISHED ITEMS: Server
specification: provide BLM with information and sizing specification
for the server(s)that will support this deployment. BLM will procure
this equipment through a separate procurement vehicle. SOFTWARE:
Provide BLM with the required operating software at the server and
client level, including: (1) Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 TerminalServer
(2) Microsoft Windows NT CALS (3) Microsoft Windows NT Workstation
licensing (4) Citrix Metaframe/Minframe (5) NCD Wincenter. INTEGRATION
AND INSTALLATION SUPPORT: Setup and install all operating system
software for this installation. Test for access and utilization from
all client workstations and terminals. TRAINING: Provide onsite
training to BLM technical support staff on the set up, maintenance, and
administration of this environment. PERFORMANCE MEASURES: successful
proformance on the contract will be measured by the following: 1. All
identified clients will have access to Microsoft Windows based
application from AIX based workstations or terminals. 2. BLM technical
staff will be trained and be able to demonstrate the ability to
administer this system. 3. Server hardware will be installed and
opertional. 4. All operation system software will be installed and
operational. 5. Documentation for this installation will be fully
completed. Award will be made based on Past Performance, Best Value,
withprice and other factors considered. There will be a pre-work
conference held before work begins so that scheduales may be
