Materials and equipment to rehabilitate three each single-phase, 50-MVA
power transformers at the Bureau of Reclamation, Shasta Dam Power Plant
facility. The transformers were manufactured by the Hitachi LTD, Tokyo,
Japan, in 1980. It is required that numerous components of the
transformers be maintained, overhauled, upgraded or replaced, as
appropriate. The Contractor shall submit in his bid a proposed price
for each line item of the list. Each transformers' condition shall be
evaluated by the contractor, together with the Contracting Officer's
Representative, before and during disassembly. A rehabilitation plan
will be prepared by the Government for each transformer. Work required,
but not listed, will be negotiated with the Contractor on a case-by
case basis. The power plant can only be taken out of service for a
limited time period and the Contractor must schedule work accordingly.
The work is situated a Shasta Power Plant, approximately 15 miles
north of Redding, in Shasta County, California. The principal
components of the work to be performed under these specification
include the following line items: 1. Remove and store, in the
Contractor's own temporary storage facility 2,900 gallons of insulating
oil. 2. Analyze oil sample from transformer. 3. Clean all bushings. 4.
Replace or repair the existing conservator tank bladder. 5. Furnish
and install new gaskets on all transformer tank penetrations, except
the tap changer. 6. Process and test 2,900 gallons of insulating oil.
7. Refill each transformer tank with processed insulating oil. Posted
