These people are required to take meteorological observations (surface, low level, and uper air),record and evaluate data, and disseminate required data. Monitor an automatic lightning detection display system (ALDS) for cloud-to-ground lightning on the NTS. The observer uses ALDS, ASOS, AFOS, and the NTS meteorological monitoring network (MEDA) to prepare and issue weather forecasts for the NTS and Tonapah Test Range. Also uses the ARL/SORD meteorological Alert Data Distribution System (MADDS) to issue forecasts and climatological data. All observations must be taken at the prescribed time and in accordance with the WMO. This procurement will be conducted as a Request For Proposals, and is a 100% set-aside for small business action.
