COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 23,1999 PSA#2308N/A-ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, NORTH ATLANTIC DIVISION, SMALL BUSINESS
CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FAIR AT THE DOUBLE TREE HOTEL,
PHILADELPHIA, PA. This conference is all small, small disadvantaged and
women owned firms interested in working with the Army Corps of
Engineers, North Atlantic Division. The North Atlantic Division consist
of six district based in Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York, Norfolk,
Concord, Mass., and Wiesbaden, Germany. The conference will be held on
11 May 1999 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Double Tree hotel,
Broad & Locust Streets, Philadelphia, Pa. For directions to the hotel

and fair will focus on the procurement of Architecture and Engineering,
Construction, Facility Maintenance and Environmental. The agenda will
include a light breakfast, presentations from the Army, Small Business
Administration and local representatives, Q & A session and a Business
Opportunity Fair. The conference and opportunity fair is limited to the
first 200 people that register. Requirements for registration are
detailed in this announcement. The purpose of the Conference and fair
are twofold: (1) Enchance Knowledge of small, small disadvantaged and
women owned business about the services provided by the Army Corps of
Engineers, North Atlantic Division and (2) to promote networking
between large businesses and small disadvantaged, women owned
companies. These companies will be able to discuss opportunites for
work with Federal Government Contracting Officials, Project Managers
and representatives from large business seeking subcontractors.
Additionally the SBA will have a Pro Net presentation on how small
businesses can register on line. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is
the nation's premier engineering organization, providing comprehensive
engineering, management and technical support to the Department of
Defense, other federal agencies and state and local governments. The
North Atlantic Division, which issued contracts in excess of 1 billion
in fiscal 1998, provides design, military construction,
Architecture-Engineering services and water resource development
services. Additional responsibilities include disaster response and
