FISC, NNSY, has an URGENT REQUIREMENT FOR SERVICES 0F A CRANE. Contractor to provide crane, crane operator, rigging personnel, and rigging gear to support bow repairs to a vessel located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA. Contractors Crane and Rigging personnel will support the removal and reinstallation of the approximate 160 ton bow section. The required radius for both lifts will be approximately 145 feet. The first tentative period of performance for the removal lift will be 2 and 3 April 1999 working 12 hours each day form 0800 to 2100. The second tentative period of will be 14 and 15 May 1999 working 12 hours each day from 0800 to 2100. NNSY will notify the contractor no later than 7 calendar days prior to the actual date of each lift requirement. Contractors crane and rigging gear shall have current American Bureau of Shipping Certifications. Contractor shall certify that crane operator(s) and riggers(s) and qualified and trained for the operation of the crane to be used. Crane and Rigging Gear Certifications shall be available on-sight for review by NNSY personnel and the Crane and Rigging Gear will be subjected to a visual inspection by NNSY personnel prior to use. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
