SIC Group 1542. Project encompasses 17,250 sf of new construction of which 4,000 sf will be a separate covered storage facility. This will be a composite metal and cmu facility including administrative, shop, training and warehouse space. Work includes grading, backfilling, and preparation of an unimproved site for the new construction; construction of a covered storage facility, training room, shop areas, vehicle parking, construction equipment parking, and administrative offices. Refer to IFB DAHA50-99-B-0001 for details. Estimated cost of construction is between $1M and $5M. Estimated start date is July 99; completion Feb 2001. DOCUMENT AVAILABILITY. Solicitation packages are no longer available for pickup at the contracting office. Documents will be available o/a 7 April 99 from the Defense Automated Printing Service (DAPS) at $272.30 per set. This is a nonrefundable fee. Documents are not available for purchase or pickup over the counter at DAPS. PAYMENT BY CHECK. Make checks payable to Superintendent of Documents, remittance in US dollars. PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD. VISA, Mastercard and Discover Card are the only credit cards accepted. Requester must furnish in writing the type of card (VISA, etc.), cardholder's name, account number, and card expiration date. REQUESTING A SOLICITATION PACKAGE. Do not send requests to the contracting office. Requests for solicitation documents shall be through any one of the following methods: (1) mail requests to Defense Automated Printing Service, ATTN: HIANG Solicitation, Box 126, Bldg 550, Pearl Harbor, HI 96850-5120; (2) via courier service to DAPS, ATTN: HIANG Solicitation, Bldg 550, Pearl Harbor, HI 96860-5120; or (3) via facsimile to (808)473-2604 when paying by credit card only. All requests must state the company name, address, telephone numbers, fax numbers, solicitation number, project title, and company designation (prime contractor, subcontractor, supplier, or plan room). Envelope front must show the solicitation number DAHA50-99-B-0001. Allow 5 days from the date DAPS receives the request for a solicitation package to be mailed out. Any request for solicitation received within 10 working days prior to bid opening date will be processed in accordance with above procedures; however, there is no guarantee that the recipient will receive the solicitation package prior to bid opening date. SPECIAL SHIPPING REQUIREMENTS. Solicitation packages will be sent via US Postal Service. Allow at least one week for mailing. Firms requesting air express service shall furnish a completed airbill showing recipient's name, company name, telephone number, company billing account number, and type of delivery required. Firms with foreign delivery addresses shall provide a completed commercial or corporate invoice in addition to the completed airbill. Failure to furnish the completed airbill and commercial or corporate invoice will result in solicitation documents being sent via regular US Postal Service mail -- no exceptions.
