The United States Agency for International Development, (USAID) is issuing a notice of its intention to negotiate a sole source contract with Finishing Enterprises for 1,500,000 Copper Intrauterine Devices (IUDs). USAID estimates its requirements as follows: Funds will be provided for the initial purchase of 1,500,000 Copper T IUDs Model Tcu380a, for delivery period January 2000 through December 2000, with an option up to 150 percent during this period. . The contract shall include four one-year options with the base remaining at 1,500,000 and with an option to purchase up to 150 percent additional in each option year. Finishing Enterprises of Tonawanda, New York is the only company that produces the FDA approved Tcu380a IUD.
