synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in
accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
consititutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not
be issued. This solicitation is issued for Request for Quotation (RFQ
No. NIA0990JCC015). The solicitation clause and provisions are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3841.
NIH/NIA Gerontology Research Center intends to purchase two(2)
apheresis systems which must include the following features: continuous
flow, single directional pump, dedicated ACD pump with
selectable/custom flow rates and display capability, monitor to
detect/divert red blood cell spillover, dedicated fluid pump for
selectable/automatic balance of plasma exchange,calculate plasma
volume, size of plasma exchange and time, platelet loss 5% or less (in
plasma exchange), TPE disposables for secondary devices or single/dual
needle procedures with conversion capability, ability to individualize
procedures, automatic pump loading, display access/return pressures in
mm of mercury, removable flow path overlays, single needle flow
controller, no return needle attachment, automatic collection of
separate plasma product while collection of mononuclear WBC's, change
separation factor in WBC procedure while in auto mode, detection of
plasma line contamination, observe/control red blood cell interface,
selectable white blood cell product volume, extracorporeal whole blood
volume less than or equal to 170ml plasma/dual needle and 284ml white
blood cell procedures, PBSC collection with full automation
(extracorporeal whole blood volume less than or equal to 165ml, inlet
flow range 10-85 ml/minute). The following factors will be used to
evaluate offers in descending order of importance: 1) technical
capability, 2) past performance, 3) price. The following FAR provisions

are to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Represntations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with their offer.

provisions also apply to this acquisition, 52.232-33 mandatory
