This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued for Request for Quotation (RFQ No. NIA-99-JCC014). The solicitation clause and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3826. NIH/NIA Gerontology Research Center intends to purchase one (1) microarray scanning system which should include, at a minimum, the following features: 2 lasers, 4 emission filters, minumum pixel size of 10 microns, scan area of 17mm x 55mm with 5 minute scan speed, less than 10CY3 molecules/micron2 sensitivity, software, cables and 1 year warranty. The following factors will be used to evaluate offers in descending order of importance: 1) technical capability, 2) past performance, 3) price.
